Company Premises of Krewel-Meuselbach

An Industrial Site with Great Potential

Krewel-Meuselbach (formerly Krewel-Werke), a medium-sized pharmaceutical company, was one of the defining and long-established industrial enterprises in Eitorf until the site was closed. In Eitorf, Krewel-Meuselbach operated a production facility equipped with compounding and filling technologies for liquids, semi-solid products, and finished medical products.

In May 2024, the company announced the initiation of insolvency proceedings under self-administration in order to restructure the business following a significant rise in energy costs and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Production initially continued. However, business operations in Eitorf ultimately ceased in June 2025.

New Perspectives for the Krewel-Meuselbach Site

The entire site, covering an area of 26,000 m² and designated under planning law as an industrial zone, has been vacant since mid-2025 and is currently being marketed by a real estate agency. At present, it is still completely open what future use the site will be given.

A takeover by manufacturing companies would be highly desirable, as this could help re-establish lost jobs in Eitorf and strengthen the local economy. Another conceivable option would be acquisition by the municipality itself in order to develop an administrative campus.

As part of the urban development framework concept, the most suitable redevelopment options for this site are currently being explored.

Updates on new developments at the site will be provided regularly on this page in the future.
