Site of ZF Friedrichshafen AG

Shock absorbers and components for shock absorbers are expected to continue being produced in shift operations at the ZF Friedrichshafen AG site until 31 December 2027. However, as part of the planned closure, production has already been significantly scaled back, and individual production halls are currently being cleared and taken out of operation.

The site covers a total area of 43,500 m². Of this, approximately 30,000 m² are used for production, 7,000 m² for office space, 3,500 m² for logistics, and 3,000 m² for quality control. According to the development plan, the site is designated as an industrial area. Additional areas belonging to ZF beyond the main site are classified as mixed-use zones and forestry land.

New Perspectives for the ZF Friedrichshafen AG Site

The primary objective of all stakeholders is to maintain production activities at the site through a sustainable and future-oriented business division. This is the only way to preserve existing jobs, create new ones, and prevent this important industrial site from becoming derelict.
